The Special Memorial at Lawnswood Cemetery Remembers 24 Men who Served in World War Two and were Laid to Rest at Peace in Leeds General Cemetery Woodhouse.

This page also Remembers Clifford Orange whos name will be added to the Memorial at Lawnswood by the Commonwealth Grave Commision in the future.

1944: Passed away due to an Operations Accident. Residence No 65 Melville Road Woodhouse.

1944: Thomas was a Navigator onboard BK135 a Vickers Wellington Bomber taking off from Moreton-In-The-Marsh on a cross country exercise when the plane flew into a thunderstorm and crashed killing all 7 crew including Thomas.  CLICK HERE For other details of BK135 Crew.

1944: Walter was posted to 149 Squadron based at Mildenhall in Suffolk. He was a Wireless Operator onboard Lancaster Bomber BI NF971.

​

Flying out of RAF Methwold Suffolk on a bombing raid over Cologne Walter was fatally injured by a splinter from a bomb. The aircraft made an otherwise safe return to base and landed at 17:01.

​
